After welcoming my first daughter in 2019, I very quickly came to understand the importance of community. These kids don’t come with a handbook and this motherhood journey is both rewarding and ghetto. Though every journey and child is unique, one of the most invaluable resources you can tap into is a group of moms who have been there and done that or are going through at the same time as you. These women may be relatives, friends, neighbors, sisters from your church, internet friends, whatever. We all need them because, in addition to offering sage advice, they remind you that you’re not alone. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize Black Girl Mom as a digital representation of those women and I hope you will too. Here, you can expect to find a wealth of meaningful content, which spans the topics of motherhood, hair care, education, self-care, money management, health, food, and more. I’m no expert. I’m only sharing what I’ve learned along the way.
